Plusbac Feed for Cows

Product Overview

There are two products related to cows and beef cattle – Plusbac Silage for the Silage and Plusbac Feed for direct feeding to the animal

Plusbac Silage is a natural, highly effective microbial fermentation, with probiotic qualities. Plusbac Silage can help the rumen by increasing beneficial microorganisms in the saliva and gut, which in turn maintains wellbeing, general health and condition. The rapid formation of lactic acid brings down the pH value quickly to its optimal level and because the product is heterofermentative and produces several positive or healthy fermentation acids, the improvement in aerobic stability works against secondary fermentation.  The result is a product that is appetising, high in energy and nutrients and helps maintain a healthy condition in livestock. Silage also helps bind ammonia and nutrients in slurry, liquid manure or solid manure

Baled silages are usually made of higher DM, longer chop forage so fermentation is slower and the final pH higher. Bales are also more prone to aerobic spoilage due to their high surface area to volume ratio and reduced density, even when chopped

The microorganisms are generally inactive at rest and so can be stored in the right conditions for a significant period of time.

Application – We suggest 400 litres of Plusbac Silage (Diluted with 4000 litres of Water so ratio of 10/1 – 10 litre water/1 litre Plusbac Silage). to  1000 tonnes of cut Silage.

The best method according to farmers is to spray the silage as collecting into the trailer – it is best to have the automated spray mechanism attached to the back of the tractor which will accurately spray the correct amounts.

For best results all sprayed silage should be stored anaerobically (covered without access to oxygen) in clamps – Feed to cows chopped

Plusbac Feed is an organic, natural, highly effective herbal microbial feed material for cows and cattle. It is produced by fermenting specially selected organic herbs, designed specifically with ruminant animals in mind.

Whilst Plusbac Feed is not a probiotic as such, it is important to understand that, as a liquid produced through fermentation, it naturally contains beneficial microbes. It is likely to be more effective than powdered, paste or other dry products, as the microbes co-exist and remain active within their natural liquid environment.

This unique fermentation process, developed over more than 40 years, supports the natural balance of the rumen and digestive system and may benefit the overall wellbeing, condition, and performance of cattle, as described in the list of benefits below.

Plusbac Feed can be added to feed or drinking water. (We recommend adding once daily.)
Plusbac Feed helps maintain healthy rumen function by supporting beneficial microorganisms responsible for fibre digestion. A well-balanced rumen environment contributes to maintaining appetite, condition, and efficient utilisation of forage and feed.

Latest Cows Advice & Research

  • Adding Microbes to Silage For Cows – How does it work? and what are the benefits

The beneficial bacteria (Microbes) present help ferment some of the sugars into lactic acid causing a decline in ph which results in a more stable silage (less perishable). In turn the microorganisms, under anaerobic circumstances, (as inside a closed silo), create a type of pre fermentation resulting in the release of anti-oxidants and vitamins. Valuable…
