Plusbac Feed for Horses

Product Overview

Plusbac Feed is a natural liquid fermented microbial feed material for horses, produced using specially selected organic herbs and beneficial bacteria developed specifically with equine wellbeing in mind.

Created through a unique fermentation process refined over more than 40 years, Plusbac Feed contains naturally occurring probiotic-related bacteria within its live liquid suspension. Unlike many dry powders or inactive formulations, the beneficial microbes within Plusbac Feed remain within their natural wet commensal environment throughout the fermentation process.

This carefully developed liquid format is designed to support healthy digestion, digestive wellbeing, condition and general health in horses. Plusbac Feed may help maintain beneficial microorganisms within the saliva and gut, supporting microbial balance throughout the digestive system.

Plusbac Feed can be added easily to feed or water, although we generally recommend feeding once daily with feed as part of a regular routine.

Why Gut Health Matters in Horses

A healthy digestive system plays an important role in the overall wellbeing, condition and performance of a horse. Much of the horse’s digestive process relies on a delicate balance of naturally occurring microorganisms within the gut, particularly throughout the hindgut where fibre digestion takes place. In normal grass paddock environment the gut bacteria is produced and normally established robustly through the continual grazing process. It’s when they are taken away from this that the beneficial bacteria production changes drastically as the saliva bacteria is created to a much lesser degree.

Changes in diet, travel, training, stress, medication, competition schedules and modern feeding routines may all influence digestive balance in horses. When the gut environment becomes disrupted, this can affect feed utilisation, condition, appetite and general wellbeing.

Supporting beneficial microorganisms within the digestive system may help maintain healthy digestion and microbial balance throughout the gut. As a liquid fermented microbial feed material containing beneficial bacteria and organic herbs, Plusbac Feed is designed to work alongside the horse’s natural digestive processes as part of a consistent daily feeding routine.

Many horse owners choose to include digestive support within their horse’s management programme to help maintain condition, digestive wellbeing and overall health throughout the year.
